Estonian Handicraft Association The society was founded in 1979, by a group of enthusiastic Estonian women living nearby who came together in the Sydney Estonian House to participate, learn and teach the skills they had learned from their mothers and grandmothers. We incorporated with the Estonian Ethnographic Society in 1986 and have worked well together ever since. As our name suggests, we honour the handicraft of our Estonian forbearers and we are fortunate that so many women who learned these skills in Estonia are still practising these crafts and teaching their skills to the next generations. Our meetings are on the first Saturday of the month at Sydney Estonian House at 10 am.
